Suggest Medication For Seizures For A Premature Baby

my baby was born 34 weeks preterm due to abruptive placenta we had to undergo emergency lscs. my baby s heartreate had gone down to 50 in the uterus. doctors said he had seizures after he was born along with many other complications. my baby was kept at ventilator for about six days and after that had fungal infection too. we had to stay at hospital for 40 days. my question is what medical treatment should be done so as to find out whether my baby is fully cured.

Hi...I have just read through your query. I understand your concern. If the baby is active and feeling well and is free from seizures then you need to wait and hope for the best. There are no specific treatment or tests that can be done in scenario like this to be hundred percent sure about the cure.

If the kid is have not having any symptoms at least 6 months then I would suggest doing an EEG to rule out seizures and also I would like to follow up the development of the baby. This is more important than any other specific test.

The main issue in such cases would be development which has to be followed up as the kid grows up. other important thing is to make the child seizure free. I hope this helps. I would be glad to help if there is any further query regarding this.
