Suggest Medication For Psoriasis On Palms With Having Fatty Liver And Unable To Take In Steroids

Hello Doctor, i am 31 year old. I have problem of psoriasis on palms. Sometime back it was on soles as well. However right noe it is reduced. I have this problem since last 4 years. Apart from that I have problem of fatty liver so my SGPT is 3 times high then normal range. That 's why my doctor can not give me steriods or any other medicine which is going via liver. Can you suggest something in my case?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for Psoriasis on palms.

It occurs because of faster renewal of skin. Generally it takes 28 days but in yourself it takes 4-5 days. We are still finding out the exact cause of it.Psoriasis is a long running disease and needs proper best treatment. Oral steroids are never given in general for psoriasis, so just check it again whether it is psoriasis or not or for usage of steroids.

Methotrexate is the mainstay of the therapy but has its own blood and liver realted side effects. As you have raised liver function tests so you can not even take methotrexate.

You should go for complete blood counts and liver function tests every month to see SGOT and SGPT.

Till that time you can apply topical creams of steroids which have no side effects on fatty liver.

Take care.
