Suggest Medication For Persistent Cough

My 5 years old son has been coughing on and off for a about 2 days now. Im at work and my husband just called to inform me that my son keeps coughing. Yesterday I started giving my son cough medicine that the dr prescript last time he got sick which was about 2-3 months. I am not sure if I should continue with the medicine or take him to urgent care since his dr office is closed til Monday.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should not worry much as your son is having dry cough only.
So continue the same cough medicines and consult doctor on tuesday.
But during this time if your son develops
1 fever
2 expectoration
3 high respiratory rate
4 not taking well orally, crying alot etc
Than take him to the ER and get done chest x ray.
Otherwise upper respiratory tract infection seems more. So give him plenty of fluids anf cough medicines.
