Hello thanks for choosing HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. The symptoms like shortness of breath, shakiness, palpitations, sweating in hands, slurred voice and anticipatory fear etc are due to anxiety only. Medicines like SSRIs or SNRIs are actual treatment of anxiety disorder. You have tried Cymbalta, Rameron, Prozac etc but no improvement occurred. Xanax caused relief in symptoms.

Xanax is alprazolam and the drug is a benzodiazepine drug and this is not a proper drug for treatment of anxiety. The drug should be used on SOS basis. It is known to cause dependence and may result in development of tolerance. I would advise you to not to rely on that drug completely for anxiety. Consult a doctor again and take proper treatment of anxiety. SSRIs or SNRIs in combination with behaviour therapy and relaxation exercises will help to reduce the anxiety.

Thanks

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. You know the reason for your panic attacks. They happen when you are stressed to the max. Understanding panic attacks will help you more than medicines.

Panic attacks always happen due to underlying anxiety disorders. You should find your underlying anxiety. Once you learn to adjust and manage your anxiety, panic attacks loss their purpose and vanish. Psychotherapy, meditation, breathing, exercises etc can help you manage anxiety. Please consult a psychologist.
