Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
SIR my dad is 73 yrs old. he is on haemodiyalysis since 7 yrs he is diabetic, hypertensive, and angioplasty since 14 yrs. he had liver problem HCV since 4 yrs. Now SGPT IS 83 and SGOT is 69 . he uses tyronorm 50 mg and velose . let me know what medication to follow for the liver problem?
"As"per your clinical history is concerned your SGPT and SGOT level is little high, so please check if you have signs like -
Bruising easily, Itchy skin, Fluid accumulation in your abdomen, Swelling in your legs, Weight loss, Confusion, drowsiness and slurred speech and Spider-like blood vessels on your skin.If anyone is present then it is a clinical sign of liver damage. So discuss with your [hepatologists] and he may also recommend a procedure to remove a small sample of liver tissue for laboratory testing. A liver biopsy can help determine the severity of the disease and guide treatment decisions. So talk with your doctor for antiviral medication combinations like [sofosbuvir 400mg/velpatasvir 100 mg]for upto 12 weeks to clear virus from blood.
Hope that helps
