Suggest Medication For Itching In The Fingers And Palm

I have itching of my hands & fingers several times a day which is not relieved by scratching. Seems to itch from inside hands. I have talked with my PCP. For several years, was treated as celliac, but I tested negative for celliac recently and taken off metaformin ( type 2 diabetes med) to aleve digestive issues. The itching returned more frequent and more areas. It had never completely gone away while not eating gluten. But it had been occassional and mainly in thumbs. Now more frequent again and in all fingers and palms.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you may be having pompholyx.
My treatment advice is -
1. It is chronic relapsing condition with seasonal exacerbation.
2. It can be kept under control with regular care. Use water with potassium permanganate in dilution of 1:10000 to cleanse your hands daily once at night.
3. Apply a potent topical steroid cream like tenovate /Lobate twice daily. Take an antihistamine tablet like tab levocetrizine for itching.

Hope this will help you.

Thanks.
