Suggest Medication For Insomnia

Hi,
Ive been prescribed zopiclone 7.5mg for insomnia, unfortunately even at double the dose, i cannot get to sleep. I cannot get another appointment with my doctor for two weeks, and I NEED to sleep before then. Should i increase the dosage again?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi.

I understand your concern.

Zopliclone is sleep medicine which can be useful in primary insomnia. If insomnia is associated with other psychological disturbances or ilness then require proper assessment.

Long acting benzodiazapine like clonazepam and diazepam can be useful. Zolpidam is evan long acting than Zopliclone.

Treatment of underlying psychological stress and illness can improve your sleep also.

Consult psychiatrist for detail evaluation and treatment.

I hope I have answered your question.

Thank you.
