Suggest Medication For Frequent Stools

Hi, my 3.5 yr old son is having disturbed stomach... he has been passing stool after every feed and the stool consistency is not watery but it is sometimes appearing as if it is mucus filled, thinner than normal. He had viral fever about 5 days ago that started the problem along with flu symptoms. we had given him antibiotics and controlled the food, gave him home remedies like ajwain and sont. he was getting better but he again had some snacks at his friend s...the problem is back .... the antibiotic had no much effect.........now we are giving him sporlac qik ......... please we needa second opinion........can you detail us regarding the dosage of gramogyl antibiotic to be given to a child of this age. the doctor suggested 6ml twice a day... I am a dentist with some medical knowledge and we felt this dosage was more..kindly help us

Hi and welcome to HCM.
This is standard gastroenterocolitis, probably viral or as a part of food poisoning. Also it can be respiratory viral infections which usually goes with whole body aches. There is no specific treatment, but lot of fluids intake and easier dietary. You can also reduce fever if more than 38C with some antiinflammatory drugs. If symptoms persist more than 2-3 days it might be bacterial infection so antibiotic treatment might be necessary. But go step by step, first try to rest and control hydration for next 2 days. nothing serious can happen. Wish you good health.
