Suggest Medication For Diarrhea Due Rectal Cancer

I WAS JUST DIAGNOSED WITH A SINUS INFECTION AND PRESCRIBED CLARITHROMYCIN. I HAVE JUST TAKEN ONE DOSE BUT EXPERIENCED SEVERE DIARRHEA. MY CONCERN IS THAT I HAVE BOWEL PROBLEMS AS A RESULT OF RECTAL CANCER. IS THERE ANOTHER MEDICATION I CAN TAKE FOR THE INFECTION.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of cancer of the rectum, taking Clarithromycin for sinus infection and getting severe diarrhea.
Yes, there are so many medicines for sinusitis like Amoxilicillin, Cefixime and so on.
You may please consult your Doctor and ask for a change, add on probiotics and stool test to see if there is any problem and get corrected according to the clinical evaluation and investigations.
I find this answer helpful
