Suggest Medication For Cold And Fever

hi my name is denise and i have a 3 years grandson who has had a runny nose and cough, fever on and off, he has been really whinny and cry babyish for the last 3 or 4 days, his mom took him to see an urgent care dr. and he said its just a simple cold, and his white blood count wasnt off so he wouldnt do further tests. prescribed him liquid motrim and liquid mucinex for children, so today we were at a friends house and he began to cry uncontolably and i ask him what was wrong he said his ear hurt, as i started to move his hair away from it he began screaming and crying like i ve never seen before, so i call his dad and tell him what had just occured and they decided to take him back to see the dr. again. she calls me after this visit saying there was nothing wrong with him that he was just acting out, i have no reason not to believe what she is telling me. my question is should i just ignore how my grandson acted today, or should i go with what i truly believe was a cry of pain and be persistant about having further test done?

Welcome to the HCM.
Your child is suffering with respiratory tract infection along with some otitis media causing pain in the ear.
Antihistaminic along with decongestant medicine will help in relieving the symptoms. Antipyretics like paracetamol is also required.
Ear drops containing antifungal and anaesthetics agent will relieve the earache.
It will be better for you to consult paeds to get proper advice.
Avoid self mediciation
