Suggest Medication For Bacterial Vaginosis And Yeast Infection

hi, I m a 20 year old female and for the past couple of years I ve been experiencing some sort of vaginal infection. I can t exactly pin point when it started but its been quite a while. I get this constant white thick discharge with a slight odour and i have no idea how to get rid of it!! I don t have a very large amount of discharge but i do have enough to cause discomfort and i don t think it s normal. I have this constant wet feeling throughout the day that i absolutely hate and i do have to wear liners on a daily basis. I have seen a few doctors about it and every time they take a sample the results come back normal. I ve taken pills for bacterial vaginosis on two separate occasions and I ve used Canesten for yeast infections (although i don t think it s a yeast infection because there shouldn t be any odour). i ve also tried RepHresh probiotic, both the actually inserted gel as well as the oral pills and nothing has worked! i only became sexually active about 2 months ago but I ve had this issue well before that. I don t experience any odours or anything during or right after sex but It s definitely present the rest of the day and I ve lost hope... what should i do? Could it be an issue with the pH balance, and would it get worse if i tried using a Vagisil pH balancing wash instead of plain soap?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Abnormal discharge can be due to yeast infection , bacterial vaginosis or hormonal imbalance. A pelvic examination by a gynecologist and swab test should be done to rule out that. PH imbalance can give recurrent infections. You can use Vagisil PH. It will help in PH balance. For yeast infections if clotrimazole is not effective then fluconazole therapy orally will be helpful. Your partner also should be treated.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
