Hello and welcome,
I understand that you are having fibroids and are now bleeding a bit more. It is best to get a D and C done in this case. It involves collecting a sample of the uterine lining under
anesthesia for examination under a microscope.
There is a small risk of having an underlying malignancy in your case and this can be detected by this test. If it is negative and bleeding is not heavy, observe the next few cycles. If the bleeding is light or the periods stop completely then no further management is needed provided that the fibroids are small [1-2cm].
Most likely you will enter
menopause before they cause any more symptoms and they tend to shrink after menopause.
So see your doctor and discuss these issues. A repeat
ultrasound scan will also help to see if they are growing or static. If they are not growing and are 1-2 cm there is no need for treatment if there are no symptoms.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Thanks for using HCM.
