My 12 year old daughter has a small lump at the side of her nose, it is very small and skin coloured, she has had it a number of years, but she is getting concious of it now and wants it removing, what is the normal procedure to remove it and is it likely to lead a scar. It is approx 2mm diameter
Depending of the type of the lesion (mole like or not), it might be removed with laser or classic incision. Lesions can be removed with laser (especially that small) if there is no need to diagnose it by histopathologist (moles needs to be verified by a histopathologist). SO if its a mole, it needs to be removed in the classic way and stitches left. In both cases, the scar should not be visible. Face is the area where the healing is very fast especially if its about younger persons.
Hope this will help. Regards.
