Hi, im a health worker in the Philippines. i had my annual chest xray done a month ago and surprising the result revealed i have cavitary bilateral koch s infection. I was shocked since i am asymptomatic even til now. Although im fully aware that TB is widely spread among Asian countries and most of us developed immunity. I started to self medicate with fixcom 4 (rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol) OD, since the pulmonologist is not yet around. But 3days after, she agreed with the medication and included vitamin B6 and ciprofloxacin 500mg BID. 2 weeks after, i repeated my chest xray and there was an improvement to about 50%. A week after, i started to feel dizzy, palpitation and BP maintained at 140/90mmHg for almost 4days. I had my lab workups : lipid profile, cbc, potassium, calcium, creatinine, ecg and sgpt. All are normal except for sgpt which is 3x the normal and HDL a little over 0.2 from normal. I stopped the ciprofloxacin. My SBP plays around 130-140mmHg. Should i start taking anti hypertensive meds? Im worried about it.
