Suggest Me Any Ideas For Curing Gastroparesis

I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis after 20 tests and 4 1/2 years. It began after a vag/hyst/cysto and rectocele repair in Feb 2009, with an uncomfortable bloating, with a feeling of rocks in my abdomen every single evening. It s now much worse and I feel nauseous every day and so very, very tired. My primary care physician doesn t know what to do with me, and the gastro specialist has run out of ideas too. I am not on any meds at this time. I tried Reglan, erythromyacin to no avail. The treatments and meds are so few and far between with possible nasty complications. I am a 74 yo female who up till this kicked in enjoyed really good health. any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. Sincerely - Julia Balmer

Hi Julia. I'm so sorry to hear about your gastroparesis issues. I'm reasonably sure your GI specialist would have considered this, but from the information you have given me here. I would suggest you discuss the possibility of using a medication called Levosulpiride (thats the generic name). It's a drug that is used to increase the rate of GI motility and seems like it could help in your case.

Again, I would expect the GI to have ruled out that possibility before. But if you don't remember them having mentioned it. You could ask

Hope this helps.
