Suggest Management Of Back Pain Caused By Degenerative Disc Disease

I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease at the T12 L1 junctureI also have a naturally pronounced lordosis. I am a female, 56 years old, 5 111 pounds. My standard back pain about 3-4 years ago would have been 3-4 out of 10, but is now 1-2, so i am very happy for a reprieve but presume eventually I will lose ground. What can i expect, and what self help measures should i pursue??
