Suggest Management For Rehabilitation With Counselling

My nephew is aged 22 yeras and absolutely careless about anything. He justs spend time idly and watching TV .No inclination for study and not at all worried for his future. Some how he manged to pass the examination in school. His friends are all adavncing in their lives but that has also no effect on his bahivior. All sorts of counselling and even punishment of sort did not yield any result. What could be the course of treatment if any to rehabilitate him to normal life.

Thanks for posting the query at HealthCareMagic. Unfortunately, there is no single unanimous answer to the problem you are mentioning. I understand that your nephew is suffering from lack of motivation. Whatever we do, we do to achieve something which we find favourable or that we crave or aspire for. Unless you can find what interests him and link it to the things he needs to do, you would not be successful. Normally a psychologist or psychiatrist does such a thing better but anybody with a keen-ness for the person and an understanding of the situation can do it. A keen observation is required before you intervene. Moreover, the improper habits have probably been going on for a while and now flow in a vicious cycle. This cycle needs to be broken. I suggest that you visit a psychologist or psychiatrist and remain in follow up.

Hope that would help you handle the situation better. Feel free to revert back in case of further queries if any.
