Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having dull intermittent pain in my belly for the last 5 months. My belly is swollen, lower part of belly is also swollen, I can't wear pants for too long because my lower abdominal area starts to hurt. I have bowel movement every day. I am not constipated. I feel nauseated, dizzy and tired all the time.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Dull intermittent pain in abdomen with localized swelling, making it unable to wear pants for long due to pain, nausea and fatigue indicates one of the possible diagnosis: Intestinal obstruction. Inflammatory mass like diverticulum. This can be diagnosed by the following ways: Get a clinical evaluation and examination preferably from a General Surgeon. CT scan of the abdomen. Colonoscopy and biopsy is needed. Tests of stool, blood and urine. All these things will give the best possible diagnosis and a plan for management. If there is a surgical cause, you may need a corrective surgery. Also get supplements of multivitamins and other nutrients as 6 months of suffering causes multiple deficiencies.
