Suggest Ideal Exercise Routine For A Diabetic Patient

My hubby who is 45 (Height: 5ft 5inches, Weight: 68) is diabetic but under control. Whenever he tries to put in an exercise routine, he can follow it for a week-10 days and then there is some illness - Cold, Cough or some pain. He is currently on 1000 mg Glyciphage. It is tough to keep up his routine.
