Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Duration of Anticoagulation:

Patients with PE (Pulmonary embolism) after surgery, trauma(as in your case) ordinarily have a low rate of recurrence after 3–6 months of anticoagulation.Hence 3 to 6 months of anticoagulation (with acitrom-oral anticaogulant) is sufficient.

Regards

Dr. T.K. Biswas M.D.
