Hallow Dear,
GASTRUL
MISOPROSTOL contains a medicines called as Misoprostol.
WHO has recommended two regimes for termination of
pregnancy up to 9 weeks of gestation:
1. Tab. Mifepristone followed after 24-48 hours by Tab. Misoprostol.
2. Tab. Misoprostol only every 3-12 hours up to 3 doses.
The dosages differ for termination of pregnancy after 9 weeks gestation.
However, these medicines are prescription medicines and should be taken only by Gynaecologist's advice lest the risk of complications like
incomplete abortion, bleeding, infection, etc. Hence I am not mentioning here the routes of administration and dosage. You should get them from your Gynaecologist.
These medicines cause developmental abnormalities in the baby. Hence, in case of failure of these medicines, pregnancy should not be continued; it should be aborted by surgical technique like MVA aspiration.
Please report to your Gynaecologist for instructions for use of these medicines.
I hope this gives you the message.
