Suggest Dosage For Amoxicillin

I have amoxicillin 500 MG I have a sines infection and bad cough. Had a very bad cold over the last 2 weeks now I think i have a secondary infection. The persctiption says to take2 capsules by mouth twice daily.
Does that mean i should take 2 pills every 12 hours, that would be 1000 mg can that be right?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain Amoxicillin is a Penicillin group of broad spectrum antibiotic and is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections..
The commonly prescribed dosage is one 500mg pill thrice a day..
In case if infection is severe you can take 875 my tablet twice a day..
So there is a possibility that you are advised to take two 5oomg pills twice a day..
But I would still suggest that 1000 mg will be too much of a dose and you should take one 500 mg tablet thrice a day or one 825 mg tablet twice a day..
In case if there is still some doubt about the dosage you can consult your treating physician and get the dosage confirmed..
