General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern for the extra dose of Amlodipine taken inadvertently.
Amlodipine is a long acting (given once daily) calcium channel blocker used in the treatment of hypertension. It is prescribed in the dose of 5-10 mg daily. Since you have taken an extra dose of 5 mg inadvertently, there is no need to worry, as one additional dose of Amlodipine generally would not lower the BP too much.
However, I would advice you to consult a physician if you start feeling dizziness, light headedeness or palpitation.

Hope this will help you.
