Suggest Diet To Give After A Mild Stroke

my mother had a mild stroke...though thank God she was not paralyzed...it's just that her left hand and leg is a bit weak... I just want to ask to give me a specific types of food that she can take on a daily basis... like types of meal to eat and types of vegetables to cook... thanks for your help.

Is she taking any medication for lowering cholesterol/blood thinners etc?
Make sure she eats a healthy diet low in fat and cholesterol.

1. You can give her freshly crushed raw garlic (2-3 cloves) which acts as a natural blood thinner and also lowers cholesterol. Fresh ginger juice helps to improve blood circulation in the body.

2. Give her fresh fruits instead of juices if she is in a position to eat solid foods.

3. Avoid high fat diet. Limit intake of butter/ghee/margarine, fried and fatty foods like nuts and dried fruits.

4. Give her whole grain cereals like oats, oat bran, whole wheat products, broken wheat porridges. You can give her pulses/grams (whole bengal gram) and beans like kidney beans and chickpeas.

5. Give her vegetables cooked in less oil and raw salads.

6. Low fat milk/curd and cheese can be given.

Does she have hypertension? If yes then you need to limit intake of salt to not more than 5 gms/day (1 levelled tsp). Avoid salty foods like chips, salted nuts biscuits, bakery items, processed cheese. packaged or canned foods.

If you could tell me about her medications, I can guide you better. Especially if she is on blood thinners then you must avoid giving her foods rich in vitamin K such as green leafy vegetables, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes etc .
