Hello,
High creatinine level indicates kidney damage, however you must get a 24 hour urine estimation of protein done to know whether you are having micro or macroalbuminaria.
What to do..
prompt Contol of blood sugar levels
Avoid nephrotoxic drugs like pain killers
Prompt control of urine infections
Promot control of hypertension
Low protein and low potassium diet,if nephropathy has developed.
Take injectable insulin instead of oral anti diabetic medicines
Take drugs like ARB's or ACE inhibitors even if blood pressure is normal as these are known to delay onset of end stage renal failure.
Thanks
