Avoid anything raw and cold foods/drinks ( ice creams, soft drinks, cold milk or even cold water). Include simple soft bland foods in your diet. Avoid acidic foods like lemon, citrus fruits/juices, or tomatoes. Avoid spices and chillies which may irritate throat. If you are having difficulty in swallowing solid foods due to inflammation of throat, include liquids containing glucose, semi solid foods like thin porridges and soups. Add crushed black pepper in soups while boiling as it helps in relieving throat infection. Do not consume any outside food as the hygiene standards of food prepared by vendors and eataries are doubtful.
