Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi doctor, two days back i ate bread and butter, since then i am having a problem of difficulty in breathing and feels like something stuck in the mouth, i went to a doctor and told me that it is a throat infection (swollen in throat), so i want to ask is that what are the foods i have to avoid?
Avoid anything raw and cold foods/drinks ( ice creams, soft drinks, cold milk or even cold water). Include simple soft bland foods in your diet. Avoid acidic foods like lemon, citrus fruits/juices, or tomatoes. Avoid spices and chillies which may irritate throat. If you are having difficulty in swallowing solid foods due to inflammation of throat, include liquids containing glucose, semi solid foods like thin porridges and soups. Add crushed black pepper in soups while boiling as it helps in relieving throat infection. Do not consume any outside food as the hygiene standards of food prepared by vendors and eataries are doubtful.
