Suggest Cure Of High Blood Sugsr

I have type 2 diabetes. I have been given Metformin 1g tabs to take twice a day. I have been on these for a couple of weeks. In Australia our measurements are different. I have been testing myself 4 x a day and i cannot bring my levels down. I score between 10 and 20 on my blood sugar count, which is very high. Also my main concern is that my legs are getting very weak and i have lost about 1 inch of the diameter of my left leg. I am 50 years of age and my job is fairly physical. I now have serious doubts wether i will be able to complete my duties as just walking and carrying weight of thirty kilos is difficult. Is this related to my diabetes? HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

As a diabetic, the goal for your fasting and premeal blood sugars (in the units you are used to) is between 4 to 7.

Your 2 hour post meal readings should be less than 10.

The maximum dose of metformin is 1g three times daily, your doctor may want to consider increasing to this dose to see if you can obtain better control.
In addition you may want to consider consulting a dietician for any dietary advice.

You may want to consider reducing your use of carbohydrates, this would primarily cause increases in the blood sugar levels.

I hope this helps
