My 4 year old grandson has been having diarrhea and vomiting on and off for the past three weeks. We have taken him to the Dr. and had a stool sample done. The sample game back normal. He has lost about three pounds, and my daughter has made another apt for tonight. He has a twin brother and a younger sister 1 1/2 yrs. They also had vomiting and diarrhea but it was over for them in a couple days. Connor s is not continuous, but he keeps re-appearing. A couple of days goes by and it s back. Now he doesn t want to eat and normally he s a good eater.
Vomiting and loose stools are the most common infections in children, for which both parents and doc need not worry untill the kid's hydration status is fine. For now you give him plenty of water and keep him well hydrated. You can also give him T.junior lanzol 30mg 1-0-0 before food for 3 days T.zinc 20mg 1-0-0 for 14 days.
Maintain and insist him to follow basic cleanliness like washing hands and personal hygeine. He will be fine soon.
