Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was stabbed by a large blackberry thorn in the lower digit of my thumb about 4 weeks ago and although it doesn t hurt, it is still a swollen mass the size of a dime. Is really stuck me hard and I expected it to be a bloody mess when I removed my glove, but there was no blood or wound at all. What should I do about this ongoing swollen digit?
HI Well come to HCM Infection may be likely, thorn injury always have risk of infection, in such condition antibiotic may required, and the best option would be Tab Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid 625 mg twice n day along with Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg three times in day, hope this information helps.
