Suggest Cause & Medication For Chest Pain While Swalloing

hi I am experiencing pain in my chest when I swallow or belch ,when I eat it hurts he worst ,I was prescribed clindamycin about 6 days ago and I stopped taking them yesterday cause I read online this can cause esophagitis,do you think this is indeed what ive got or is there a high chance it might be something else?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Yes, you are right. Clindamycin can affect esophageal mucosa and cause esophagitis.
But incidence of this side effect is very rare.
In my opinion you are having drug induced GERD ( Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease ). Due to this the acid of the stomach tends to come up and cause the symptoms.
Better to consult gastroenterologist and get done upper GI Scopy to rule out esophagitis.
Try to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid hot and spicy food.
2. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
3. Avoid stress and anxiety.
4. Start proton pump inhibitor.
5. Go for walk after meals.
6. Keep 2 - 3 pillows under head in the bed.
7. Avoid smoking and alcohol if you have this habit s.
