Suggest Better Remedy For Depression,anxiety

I get a very mild headache about twice a week immediately upon awakening. I also get queasy about 5 times per week at the same time of day. I just know both are psychosomatic and have been diagnosed 10 years ago with depression and anxiety. SSRI's don't ever work. I see a therapist every week, but no relief with the physical sx. What else can I do? Thanks for your time.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello Welcome to HCM

You have early morning headache along with queasy feeling in morning. You have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and took SSRIs with no relief. You have psychosomatic symptoms of persisting headache. As you have mentioned SSRIs didn't work so other options are SNRIs and TCAs. SNRIs like Duloxetine have good antidepressant and anti anxiety properties with actions on pain symptoms also. The drug is used in a number of somatic pains. Antidepressants like Mirtazapine can also be used. The drug is used in a number of cases who don't respond to SSRIs. Consult your psychiatrist for these drugs.

You are visiting therapist with no relief. Still detailed CBT sessions about 4-5 per week can prove useful.

Thanks
