Suggest An Alternative To Lyrica Having Undergone Spinal Injuries

I am currently taking Lyrica twice a day, 150 mg in the AM and 200 mg in the PM. Is there a suitable/cheaper generic alternative to Lyrica? This dosage works well and allows me to live a normal life w/o pain in my feet. No diabetes but some spinal injuries. I m 62 and have health insurance.

I read your question and I understand your concern as Lyrica (Pregabalin) is not a cheap drug.

The answer depends on where you live which unfortunately you don't say. There are generic versions but are not present in every country due to different patent regulations. Regrettably generic versions are not available in European Union till 2016 and United States till 2018.
I know it to be available in Canada from several manufacturers like Actavis, Apotex, Sandoz etc.
If you want suggestion on other drug which could have similar efficacy, that could be Gabapentin.
