Dear sir i can understand your concern.
As per your fathers history i an able to make out the he developed cardiac related complications.
we will suggest insulin for all the patients who develop complications because insulin is the best way to control diabetes.
In diabetes as a natural course of disease the pancreas will stop producing insulin after few years.
those patients who don't have insulin reserve should take insulin.
there are two options for you
1.check for c-peptide test which will tell about capacity of pancreas to produce insulin.
2.consider installing continuous subcutaneous insulin pump.
Hope I was able to help you.
If you have any further question fell free to write me back.I will be happy to help.
Take care.
Best Regards.
