Suggest Alternative Medicines For Fever And Cough For A 6-year-old

Hi I am having 6 years old son his lymph node in stomach is 8to 14mm in ultrasound. Every month he suffer from fever. From last 15 days he is feeling tires always having stomach ach. Now doctor has suggested two medicine rifacept kid - 3 2 tablet and combutol 200 1and half table for 2month. I am giving medicine from last 12 days but fever comes in morning time temperature is 99. He is also cough and cold. How long fever and cough and cold continues. Pls suggest if any diagnosis required.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Here as you are having fever , cough doctor might suspecting TB and so anti TB drug started ....

So your child had confirmed TB infection ???
For TB confirmation chest x ray and sputum examination done ...AFB sputum staining done. ...

If TB there than AKT drugs can be taken like you have mentioned isoniazide and ethambutol.....

Here also rule out typhoid as abdominal pain and fever also present with widal test. ...

If TB not present than search for other etiology ..If needed endoscopy and biopsy for histopathilogical examination sent to rule out cause ...
