Suggest Alternative Medicine For Type 2 Diabetes

I have diabetes 2 and am supposed to take metformin but I like to drink. I have a few glasses of wine and a gin and tonic a night, I know that s bad but I am in my sixties and have done so for about 20 years. I have been taking the tablet each day but seem to have bouts of diarohea so have stopped taking it. Is there an alternative for people who drink

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic .

There are many medicines for Diabetes . Metformin by itself can cause diarrhea. You can ask your doctor for Tablet Glimeperide as the chances of loose motion with this drug is less .

But don't change it by yourself as the dosage has to be adjusted by your doctor himself .

Any Clarifications or doubts feel free to ask . Happy to answer .

Regards.
