Hello,
Blood sugar levels are still very high and these can not be controlled by any oral medications.
The best treatment for him is injectable insulin only.He needs to revise his dose of insulin injections to achieve the control of old sugar levels.Consult a diabetologist for the proper adjustment of doses.
Insulin needles are very fine nowadays and are very much painless and hence there should not be any fear or pain regarding using them.
You can even use Pre filled insulin pens which have very small needle bore.
Thanks
