Suffering With Gum Disease, Have Excellent Oral Hygiene, Advised Inspecting IUD. Could IUD Cause Gum Disease?

I have gum disease that is shocking - I take excellent care of my teeth, floss, don t drink coffee, soda and am a healthy person. My dentist wanted me to look at the IUD that I have had for three years - a year later is when all my dental issues came up. Could an IUD be related to my gum disease and does an IUD release hormones????

Hi,
Thanks for posting the query,

This could be due to hormonal changes, you need not to worry.
At home take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.
Take plenty of fluids which are rich in vitamin C like lemons, oranges.
Get a professional scaling and polishing done by your dentist.

Take care!
