Suffering From Tetralogy Of Fallot, Can I Have A Tattoo Done?

Hi I was born with tetralogy of fallot and had an operation to repair it at the age of 1. For a long time now I have wanted a tattoo but have always been warned against it by my parents but I haven t brought the subject up with my cardiologist who I see every 18 months. What would be the risk if I were to get a tattoo?

Hi,

In your case the main risk of tattoo is infection.
Nowdays infections from tattoo are rare, but there is always a small possibility.
And patients after correction of Fallot from any infection can develop very unlikely side effects, such as bacterial endocarditis.

Wishing you good health

In case of further questions don't hesitate to ask
