How did you know that his low hemoglobin
is due to loss of blood. If there is no visible bleeding from any site that may cause low hemoglobin then proper workup for the cause of anemia should be done first.
Evaluation of anemia needs a battery of test like Complete blood count
, RBC indices, peripheral smear, reticulocyte
count and may be bone marrow examination
. Low Hb may be due to blood loss, decreased blood production or increased destruction of RBCs. Already possibility of blood loss has been ruled out by various test. So I would suggest you to consult a physician for proper clinical evaluation for signs of any chronic disease ( like chronic kidney disease
), any infection and lab evaluation also for the cause of anemia.
