Suffering From Ear Infection & Lump On Sides Of The Neck

my nephew has an inner ear infection he is taking a medicine he has never taken before...his tonsils also have white spots but the strep test was negative...however we noticed a lump on the left side of his neck it is the size of a golf ball. he said it does not hurt but is hard to swallow. what could this be?

Hi thanks for contacting a health care magic.

Your child having inner ear infection ..
So you might prescribed antibiotic for that...along with antiinflammatory drug.

White spot over tonsil could be by foods or mucus accumulation or pus accumulation.
Sometime diphtheria can be cause if not vaccinated against it...

Salt water gargle done.
Drink more water.
Excess spicy foods avoided.

If needed posterior pharynx swab can be taken....

Here your neck swelling can be by reactive lymph node enlargement.
It is better to take FNAC from that to rule out cause.

With keeping this in mind consult ENT surgeon.
