Hi. My mom has a very concerning problem. She suffers from chronic depression (chemical). but sometimes, she suddenly gets a very intense pain in her head, and the pain goes down to her chest and spreads. she describes it as a feeling of being ripped apart. i am really worried as to what this could be. hope to see your reply.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I believe that you have been suffering from chronic depression and understand that you have intense pain issues that may be related to depression and if not, is making your depression worse. I also think that you should get an ECG for your mother and a stress test to make sure that she does not have a cardiac condition. I hope this helps. Take care and consult a psychiatrist if the testing is all normal!
