Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic Public Forum

Your current problems are: anxiety, palpitation and fear of getting heart attack while going outside. With these symptoms, in presence of normal investigation, it is better to rule out anxiety and stress in your case.

Common symptoms of anxiety which may or may not be present in your case: nervousness, restlessness, mild irritability, excessive worry regarding own health, tremor, muscle spasm, heaviness in body, easy fatigability, headache, sleep disturbance, palpitation and dry mouth.

Following steps and measures will help you:
-Get opinion from psychiatrist as person life changes after management of anxiety. Now a days very effective treatment available for anxiety in form of medicines and psychotherapy (cognitive behavior therapy).
-Healthy diet: Milk and fruits in diet.
-Daily morning walk and breathing exercise.

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Wish you Good Health.

Psychiatrist Dr. Sundar Gnanavel's  Response
Hello........
Thanks for your query. The symtoms you report of- fear of heart attack and sudden palpitations might be due to panic attacks. This is not a life-threatening disorder. Breathing relaxation techniques, avoiding tea/coffee/carbonated beverages and meditation techniques might be useful. A thorough psychiatric evaluation of your symptoms is required and you can be started on anti-anxiety drugs or psychotherapy techniques (cognitive behavioural therapy) if required after evaluation. Wish you early recovery.
