Suffering From UTI, Swollen Penis, Sore, Black Stool. Is Berry Juice Cause Of Black Stool? Remedy?
I am a 29 year old male I have recently gone to the hospital and it turns out I have an urinary tract infection the gave me CIPROFLOXACIN 500 mg to take twice a day and I was told to drink water and cranberry juice. I noticed today that my stool is black and the drug info says to see doctor if stool is black I am wondering if the cranberry juice that also has other berries in it could be causing my stool to be black. Another thing is my penis is swollen and sore in some spots and I don't know if this is normal.

A well documented side effect of ciprofloxacin is Diarrhea which may be watery or bloody.
Stop the drugs at once and inform your doctor.
There are other group of antibiotics which can be prescribed.
In the future you should be careful not to take ciprofloxacin because you are allergic to it.
sore in the penis may be part of this allergy or it may be a separate infection.
