Suffering From TB. Taking ALT Medication. On P-zide. Can We Keep Liver Healthy?

My brother is suffering from TB . He has been taking ATT medicines from last 10 days.
When we got his blood tests done, SGPT/SGOT levels were 118/124. Doctor has recommended to stop P-zide(1500mg). & then going forward asked to undergo for a test again..If levels donot come back, he has suggested for injections.

Is this the only wayout..We are really worried if this will seriously impact his liver....can we do something additional to keep liver healthy...

First my questions to you; did you have basline ivestigations with you;I mean before starting ATT what was the level that will indicate exact rise of your brothers LFT's. If they were normal then yes; they are in high range that too for 10 days of ATT; you cannot continue with same regimen of ATT.

hello, your brother is in the intensive phase of the ATT and is currently taking four different drugs. This SGPT/SGOT result which are about 3x the normal value suggest that he has developed hepatotoxicity which is a side effect of this drugs in the following other INH + rifampin > INH alone >> pyrazinamide alone > rifampin alone > ethionamide.
i will like to know if he is presenting with any clinical symptoms like: nausea, vomiting, abdominal tenderness, discomfort near the ribs on the right
upper abdomen, jaundice (yellowing of skin and whites of the eyes)
Asymptomatic patients with an increase in LFTs from baseline:
a. if the increase in LFTs is
b. for asymptomatic patients, if the serum transaminases increases > 3-5x normal: hold INH until levels return to baseline.
i will like to know if your brother is presenting with any of this signs so i be more specific in my answer
