Suffered With Migraines, Nauseated, Been Sick. Tried Contraception. How Is It Related To Diet?

Hello, I've suffered with migraines for about 4 years now; I get them usually behind one eye, usually the right, and then all down the side of my face. I usually feel nauseous when I have them and half the time I will actually be sick. I'm a 22 year old female, I have tried different contraception’s as I know this can sometimes be a factor but there has been no change. I have been to my doctors a few times and they just ask about my diet. Am I overreacting to be asking for more help, perhaps to be referred to a specialist?

Hello

Sudden onset unilateral headache with nausea, visual blurring, vomiting occur commonly in migraine headache only. The headache is commonly found in females and is unilateral to begin with and progresses to become bilateral. Contraceptives, noise aggravate the headache. I would advise you to consult a doctor for proper management. Medicines like Amitryptilline, SSRIs etc are used in headache. Propranolol can be used for prophylaxis. For symptomatic relief cinnarizine, triptans are used.

Thanks
