Dear friend,
Thanks for posting your query on this website. I can fully appreciate your concern for problem.
I'm afraid that
ulcerative colitis is a life-long condition, which is characterized by remissions and relapses. Hence, you will have to be mentally prepared to be on medicines life-long, though the doses will keep on fluctuating.
Since your stools are normal and show no blood, your condition is presently stable. Your doctor is right in switching over to
Saaz DS, following appearance of
joint pains.
Further, since you have been on
steroids (
wysolone) for quite some time, it leads to weakening of the bones , causing joint pains. To counteract this side effect, you may add the following medicines:-
1. Tab xxx70mg - one table per week under supervision of your doctor.
2. Tab xxxD3 (0.5mcg) one tablet daily after breakfast.
3. It would be worthwhile to increase the dose of xxxDS 1gm THRICE daily, so that the dose of xxxcan be reduced to the minimum level.
I am highly optimistic that you will certainly benefit from the advice.
May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.
Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.
HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
Fond Regards,
Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
