Suffered A Head Injury, Noticed A Significant Memory Loss. Medication?

I am 54 years old. Two years ago I fell ice skating and suffered a head injury (no open wound). I was in hospital for 4 days due to vomitting and vertigo and then off work for 1 month. I have noticed a significant loss in memory (short-term), along with the ability to focus and comprehend. It is worse during times of stress . Is there medication that can be prescribed to help with this?

Hello,

Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.

You have not mentioned about the MRI findings. It seems MRI was not done. If you have problem with memory and attention then it is likely that you may be having some frontal lobe damage. This damage can lead to the kimd of problems that you have described.
Its advisable to go ahead with an MRI brain.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.

If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

In future if you wish to contact me directly, you can use the below mentioned link:
