Suffer from inflammation in the eye, severe pain in the jaw. Episcleritis diagnosed. Hyperflexibilty syndrome?

I have been suffering from Inflammation in one eye for 5 months, have been told by the eye doctor it is episcleritis, it is accompanied by severe pain in my jaw, it attacks every 4 weeks. I have also had joint pain for the last couple of months, the rheumoltogist told me today I had hyperflexibility syndrome. Could this be causing the eye/headache problem?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
The eye condition you suffer from is most commonly seen with disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and other connective tissue disorders. The eye is not the primary source of inflammation but more a complication of the systemic disease. Hence, treatment for the same is in the form of eye drops but treatment of the root cause of the disease fixes the eye problem as well. The same is true for the headache. Your rheumatologist will have to tackle the problem with oral medication and probably a maintenance treatment also to keep the condition in check. The episcleritis will subside following that.
