Sudden Severe Diarrhea With Blood Discharge After Being Kicked Hard In Lower Abdomen. Is This Serious?

Just came back from ER. My 15 year old son 6' 143 lbs was kicked pretty hard in the lower abdomen during soccer game. Played on but 30 minutes later lost control of his bowels followed severe diaharra which eventually turned bloody. Cat scan did not reveal anything. They sent him home. Thoughts?

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

As he developed bleeding in the stools it means there is some amount of intraluminal bleeding and may not be picked up by CAT scan.
If there is no further episode of bleeding, he is pain free and no postural hypotension then there seems to be no cause for concern.
Adequate rest and soft diet will help

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life

Take Care
