Sudden Pricking Pain In The Tonsils With Swelling, Nasal Discharge. Why?

I was sitting on the couch when all of the sudden I felt this pricking in my throat . Literally ten minutes later my left tonsill swelled to the size of a golf ball and had a sudden rush of drainage in my nose and tough time swallowing . I didn t eat anything so no reaction. What would cause the sudden swelling and drainage in minutes.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

After carefully reading your query and analysing the symptoms and co-relating them with possible pathophysiological developments it is clear that you have acute allergy.

To manage it you may take steroids in bolus dose.

Try to consult your family doctor to check your vitals.

Regards.
